Dear families, community members, and friends of Deposit Elementary School,
We have had the very best start of the school year this year! Our students and staff are excited to be here with one another! We are working as a staff to bring out the leadership qualities in your children. I would also like to welcome Matt Mastropietro as Assistant Principal! We are lucky to have him working in the elementary school!
The work we are doing is called The Leader in Me based on the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey. Our students are learning about Habit 1: Be Proactive. They are learning how to think before they speak, plan ahead what they want to achieve, and to take responsibility for their learning. We are already seeing the positive impact for our kids!
I sent you a link to a survey that I hope you will respond to. We want you as our community to feel welcome and needed in our school, because you are! Every child needs to be surrounded by all those who can help them be their best. So, please let us know where we are strongest, and what we need to improve! The survey goes through October 6. Please take a few minutes to take it. Thank you!
We continue to expect our 4 Behavior Expectations of being Respectful, Responsible, Ready to learn, and kind. Our students are working hard to meet those expectations! Teachers are giving positive praise as much as possible to encourage them. We all need that pat on the back when we are learning!
I hope you will attend our monthly assemblies which will be held the 3rd Friday of every month from 1:50-2:50 p.m. As soon as they are ready, our students will be leading the assemblies themselves!
