Winter is here!

Please be aware of school delays or closings. If severe weather causes school to be cancelled prior to the start of the day, Deposit Central School District will list the information on local radio and TV stations, in addition to using the automated phone system informing parents of District happenings. In the event of a delay, school will operate on the delayed schedule, please be sure not to send your child to school at the regular time. Faculty and staff will not be on duty. If weather or unforeseen circumstances should occur during the school day, and school is dismissed early, PLEASE HAVE A PLAN IN PLACE WITH YOUR CHILD. When early dismissals occur during the day, we usually have limited time to get information out. Once again, the automated phone service will communicate to you the necessary information you will need regarding the situation. It is imperative that you keep your child’s early dismissal card updated with current addresses and phone numbers.I am asking parents/guardians to remind children to dress appropriately as the weather begins to turn colder. Students will be outside during recess unless inclement weather is a factor. Proper dress helps to alleviate any physical stress on the body which can lead to a lowered immune system and eventually illness.

December will be a very busy month. Students will be involved in a variety of celebrations. Please join us on December 15th at 6:30 PM for our Winter Concert. On December 21st, the PTO will sponsor a movie for all students during the school day. A big thank you goes to all members of the PTO who work hard to support our students! Also on December 22nd, Deposit Elementary will be holding their annual Breakfast with Santa starting at 7:30 am. Remember, this special breakfast is open to all parents and guardians!

Don’t forget that Winter Break begins on December 23rd and ends on January 2nd. School will resume on January 3rd. I wish you all a fun and relaxing time during this break.
