Students Remember Florida Victims

From the superintendent: I am so proud of our students. As you may know, many students across the country planned a "walk out" in remembrance of the lives lost in Florida on February 14, 2018 and as a sign of unity for school safety. As a district, we were concerned with the safety of our students and were not comfortable with students being outside on the campus at a known time. As an alternate option, our students planned an assembly in the auditorium which was open to students on a voluntary basis. During the assembly, our student council members read a short biography of the students and adults who perished in Florida. They also planned a moment of silence, and made statements. In order to take a positive action, the student council asked our students to "Walk Up" instead of "Walking Out". You can see more about the "Walk Up" movement on our FaceBook page. Congratulations to our students for making this moment meaningful. Thank you to the administration and Mrs. Diemer for helping the students carry out their plans.
